15 Day Uganda Gorillas, Primates and Wildlife Adventure

This 15 Day Uganda Gorillas, Primates and Wildlife Adventure will take you to Murchison falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable and Lake Mburo National Park, Jinja and Ziwa Rhino Santuary. Activities include; source of River Nile, Rhino Trekking, Game Viewing Boat Cruise, Chimps Trekking, Gorilla Trekking, Batwa Experience, Safari/Nature Walk and Lake Bunyonyi Experience, all in Uganda.

Location

Day 1: Arrival Entebbe
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda and after finalizing the formalities, you shall be welcomed by your guide, who will then drive you to check in at your Hotel.
Overnight: Anderita Beach Hotel/ 2friends/Imperial Hotels/Airport view/Acacia Beach Hotel..
Day 2: Travel to Jinja Source of River Nile
After breakfast, Drive to jinja with a stopover for a 2 hour tour in Mabira forest for Birding or Forest Canopy- { super-skyway} , Boat trip the source of the Nile, Visit fishing sites on Lake Victoria, and Bujagali Ancestral sites.
Overnight: Nile village hotel and spa, 2 friends and Jinja Nile resort.
  
Day 3: Visit Itanda falls and Travel to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
In the morning after breakfast you will visit to Itanda falls on the Nile River and Mid-morning you will start your drive to Ziwa rhino sanctuary.
Overnight: Amuka lodge or Masindi Hotel.

Day 4: Rhinos and Murchison falls National Park.
After breakfast you will proceed for a briefing on the roles concerning the walking safari to see the southern white Rhinos that were re-introduced in Uganda and Mid-morning drive to Murchison falls visiting top of the falls and proceed to the lodge for lunch.
Overnight: Murchison River lodge or Pakuba lodge.

Day 5: Game Drive and Launch cruise on the River Nile.
After an early breakfast proceed for a game drive. This is a beautiful drive across savannah, Borassus palm forest and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. In the afternoon go for a boat ride up the Nile, to Murchison falls, where the park derives its name.
Enjoy these spectacular falls by hiking to the falls where the Nile squeezes through a 7 meter gap and at the bottom you will see Huge Nile Crocodiles bask.
Overnight: Murchison River lodge or Pakuba lodge.

Day 6: Drive to Kibale National Park.
To day you will drive to Fort portal nearby town to kibale National Park for lunch. Along the drive we will go through big Tea plantations and later check in at our accommodation.
Overnight: Primate Lodge, Crater safari lodge or Kibale safari lodge.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk.
After breakfast we will go for chimpanzee trekking, enjoying a wonderful forest experience. The park is 795kms and has got beautiful topical trees .Kibale also is a home to over 13 primates and given chance you may see all. In the afternoon we go for Bigodi swamp walk that gives you another opportunity to see other primates that you may have missed during the chimp trek and also know for unique birds.
Overnight: Primate Lodge, Crater safari lodge or Kibale safari lodge.

Day 8: Drive to Queen Elizabeth Park for Kazinga Channel boat ride and Evening game safari.
After morning breakfast we will drive to the park Named after her Majesty the Queen of England. It’s one of the Uganda’s most scenic and popular game park. Lunch then we go for the boat trip is one that gives visitors the best opportunity to see the animals as close as possible and also best for bird life.
We shall enjoy an evening game safari after the boat trip to have another chance to see animals and birds such as lions Hippos leopard spotted hyena Elephants Giant forest hog Uganda kobs and buffaloes
And return to the lodge.
Overnight: Park View lodge, Mweya safari lodge and Kasenyi safari lodge.

Day 9: Early morning game safari and Relax at the lodge.
After early breakfast we go for yet another game safari to see wildlife active hunting and enjoying sunrise. You expected to see big cats hunting such as lions, leopard spotted hyena busy searching for the hunt. This is always a beautiful time during sunrise to take photos as the park boasts the highest bio diversity rating of game, park from open savannah to Rain forest, dense papyrus swamps and crater / soda lakes. We shall return to the lodge for lunch and relaxed afternoon.
Overnight: Park View lodge, Mweya safari lodge and Kasenyi safari lodge.

Day 10: Game Drive in Ishasha for Tree Climbing Lions
After breakfast we shall start on our fall day game safari in Ishasha to fully maximize the chances of seeing not only tree climbing lions but this is the area of high concentration of elephants, Topis, spotted hyena and the scenic views of Edward flats.
Overnight: Ishasha Wildness Camp.

Day 11: Morning Game Safari and Drive to Bwindi Forest for Gorillas – Coffee tour.
After breakfast you will have a game drive in Ishasha wildness discovering more spots where tree climbing lions are often found as well as other game. Mid-morning to drive to Bwindi forest and have a coffee tour to see how coffee is locally made in the local community. This is also another scenic drive that takes 2-4 hours depending on the location of our gorilla permits.
Overnight: Engaji Lodge, Gorilla mist, Gorilla safari lodge, Silver back lodge, Lake mutanda lodge and Rushanga gorilla lodge.

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa cultural Experience
This morning we get up early to prepare for our gorilla trekking where you will be led by experienced Ranger guide who will give you interesting facts about Mountain gorillas, other Primates that live in the Forest as well. The trekking takes between 2-6 hours depending on the food availability for the gorillas.
Overnight: Engaji Lodge, Gorilla mist, Gorilla safari lodge, Silver back lodge, Lake mutanda lodge or Rushanga gorilla lodge.

Day 13: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi for Boat ride.
After a relaxed breakfast we will drive to Lake Bunyonyi one of the beautiful places in the Country. They have spectacular views of the terraces of the Ugandan mountains .It is also called the ‘’ Switzerland of Uganda’’. The drive takes about 2-3 hours from Bwindi. After lunch you will have an exciting boat trip to visit the different islands on the Lake , schools and Have chance to interact with the locals and Residents are happy for your visit and are open to explain their daily lives. We shall then return to the lodge.
Overnight: Bird nest lodge

Day 14: Relax at Lake Bunyonyi and Drive to Lake Mburo National Park for Night game safari.
You will enjoy a relaxed breakfast and Mid-morning we drive to Lake Mburo Park and is another National Park that inhabits Zebras, Impalas, Elands, Topis and many more mammals. In the Evening we shall do a Night game safari with armed rangers which also gives you a chance to see Nocturnal animals.
Overnight: Mburo safari lodge or Mihingo Lodge.

Day 15:  Morning Armed Ranger Guided Nature Walking Safari
In the early you will have a guided nature walk to have chance to see animals as much closer as possible.  The walk takes 2-3 hours and then return to the lodge for breakfast. We will then check out and drive to Kampala for shopping some traditional items and visit historical sites then check out and tranfer to the Airport.

  • A Visa – you can apply for the visa online or very easily to get one at the point of entry into the country  ( AIRPORT )
  • Yellow fever vaccination card.
  • Chimpanzee and Uganda Gorilla trekking permits – You can apply and secure these on line but experience has shown that it is better coordinated when you send money to the tour firm to handle it for you at no extra cost to the standard fee (USD600) { BUT ALL PERMITS ARE INCLUDED IN COST / ALL ACTIVITIES MENTIONED IN THE ITINERARY }
