2-Day Amazon Living Experience

This tour is a hybrid of a vacation and jungle living learning experience. You will be immersed into the jungle lifestyle almost immediately and you will not only learn jungle survival skills but you will get to relax and enjoy your time in the jungle as a vacation also.

Day1 – Manaus / Presidente Figueiredo / Tree Climbing (L, D)

Bright and early at 8:00 a.m. you will be met at the airport or hotel by your naturalist guide and transferred by car to the lodge – about a two-hour drive with a 10 minute stop at the halfway mark. Along the journey, the vegetation changes from colonized deforested areas to virgin rainforest. You’ll arrive to a warm welcome at the Amazon Camp Lodge. Meet for an orientation snack with our tour leaders and prepare for an exciting tree climbing adventure! From the lodge you will embark on a guided walk along a trail that meanders through the Amazon rainforest’s thick canopy. Our tree climbing adventure begins with an Angelim Tree (Dinizia Excelsa) ranging from 200 feet tall, specially selected for your adventure. You’ll receive thorough instructions in tree climbing techniques, and your guide will be alongside you as you ascend into the canopy. Once high in the tree, there will be a canvas hammock waiting for you to rest, relax and observe life from a bird’s eye view…ahhh, we call this Tree Time!

After dinner in the Amazon Camp Lodge, enjoy your overnight, hammock slumber here at the Jungle Base Camp. Venture into the jungle on the not-to-be-missed experience to spot unusual insects and animals – about 50 percent of the rainforest’s animals are nocturnal. You and your guide have the night to explore the jungle and the focus here is on living in the wilderness.  With no electricity at the jungle site, headlamps provide light. The well-constructed Jungle Base Camp provides basic accommodations within the native environment, perfect for a night of rainforest camping. Accommodations include hammocks set under a large tent canopy; open to the fresh air and natural forest sounds, allowing for an authentic rainforest camping experience. The campsite has a stream for water. Learn to slow down and tune up your sense and become an active part of the local ecology. You will spend the night here camping for rest. Beneath a starry sky you’ll enjoy the evening’s open camp fire where guests congregate and chat over the day’s events.

Note: If you wish to stay instead at the Amazon Camp Lodge, please notify your tour guide in advance.

Day2 –  Presidente Figueiredo / Manaus (B, L)

Rise and shine, after your memorable night of jungle camping return to the Amazon Camp Lodge, enjoy your breakfast and feel free to relax all morning. From here, you’ll return to Manaus after lunch. We will drive you to the hotel in Manaus or to catch your flight home.
