(ODT03) CANAL ZONE FORTS AND MILITARY BASES TOUR

The tour departs from Panamá city travelling to Fort Sherman in the province of Colón. Arriving at Fort Sherman, we will be visiting the Fort of San Lorenzo and the surrounding area. To finishthis part of the tour, we will visit different parts of the Coastal Defence system which the US Army built to defend the Panama Canal on the Atlantic side.

The batteries we'll visit are: Howard & Baird, Mower & Stanley, Kilpatrick, Mackenzie. Upon finishing this interesting leg, we head to Fort Davis and Fort Gullick for a panoramic tour.

From here we continued towards to the town of Margarita. From here we head towards the Marine Laboratory of Galeta Island, where we will be visiting the laboratory and its surroundings. Not far from the laboratory is an old US Navy radar station. From here we go to lunch.

Leaving the city of Colón to Panamá using the Gamboa road, we will be visiting the Gamboa town and also stop at the French Cemetery, where we will make a sightseeing tour to the Corozal American Cemetery. The tour continues with a panoramic visit to Fort Clayton, former Southern Command Headquarters.

The tour concludes with a panoramic visit to the area of Fort Amador and Fort Clayton.
