Day 1 Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Zagora - sand dunes
Pick up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech and set for our adventure across the Moroccan South. Our drive takes us to the High Atlas Mountains that we will cross along the highest road pass of Tizi Tichka that opens some splendid views of the snow topped mountains, green appley valleys and plenty of Berber villages. This dramatic drive over the mountains will take us to the city of Ouarzazate sometimes called as the gateway to the desert Morocco. From here we travel along barren winding road till we descend into Agdz, where we meet the largest river oasis in Morocco, the Draa Valley. It is the most picturesque valley of Morocco with views of the palm trees and many small Sub Saharan villages. The valley will lead us all the way to Zagora where we meet with our guides and camels that will carry us across this region to the sand dunes by Zagora. Here we settled in the tent for the night accompanied by our guides and Nomad music.
Day 2 Nokhila - Zagora - AitBenHaddou - Marrakech
In the morning enjoy the sunset coloring the region before we return back to Marrakech. On our way back we will stop at the famous Ksour of Morocco Ait Ben Haddou by Ouarzazate. This Ksour is collection of many Kasbahs and was once an important stop on the caravan routes coming from the Sahara to the ports in the Northern part of Morocco trading salt with gold and slaves.
This Kasbahs is under the protection of UNESCO and is really well preserved. Many tourists travel to Morocco to visit this unique Moroccan heritage. Have some time to walk along the streets of the Ksour and enjoy the amazing views opening before you. Then it will be time to cross the High Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech.
