Pass by United Sports Complex—the home stadium of the world famous Chicago Bulls, stroll by the Buckingham Fountain at Grant Park and the Cloud Gate at Millennium Park, rapidly climb to the Observatory Deck of Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), cruise on Lake Michigan from the Navy Pier to appreciate the splendid architecture of our Second City, and of course, shop through the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue!

Millennium Park

completed in 2004 (4 years late and enormously over budget) covers the area north of the Art Institute in Chicago built on air rights over commuter train tracks along the lakefront.

The Crown Fountain by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa features 2 glass block columns with LED display facing each other rotating 1,000 faces of Chicago residents at random for approximately 5 minutes, culminating with a pucker of the lips before a spout of water cascades onto the plaza below.  The fountain is very popular with kids in the summer and extremely entertaining to watch.  Many children bring swimsuits to play in the water.  During the winter months the water show is not active however the LED display of faces continues.

Cloud Gate (more commonly known as "The Bean") by British artist Anish Kapoor is another amazing site to see.  The way the sculpture reflects the city, sky, and passers-by keeps everyone entertained.

A visit to Chicago would not be complete without a stop in Millennium Park, and it won't cost you a red cent!

Lake Michigan

is one of the five Great Lakes of N.America and the only one located entirely within the US. The other four Great Lakes are shared by the U.S. and Canada. It is the second largest of the Great Lakes by volume] and the third largest by surface area, after Lake Superior and Lake Huron (and is slightly smaller than the U.S. state of West Viginia). To the east, its basin is conjoined with that of Lake Huron through the wide Spraits of Mackinac, giving it the same surface elevation as its easterly counterpart; the two are tecnically single lake. Lake Michigan is bounded, from west to east, by the US State of Wisconson, Illions , Indiana, and Michigan. The word "Michigan" originally referred to the lake itself, and is believed to come from the Ojibwa word mishigami meaning "great water".
