Day 1: ARRIVAL AT ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – KAMPALA CITY

On, arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be received by a Redroad Tours representative/ driver. After a brief orientation, you will head to your first accommodation for this trip in Kampala city. 

JOURNEY TIME: 1 HOUR 30 MINUTES

Day 2: KAMPALA CITY

Wake up to the bustling city of Kampala, have breakfast and then get an orientation by our representative about the activities for the day. After your orientation, go sight seeing in this vibrant city on a popular means of motorcycle transportation called “boda bodas.” After this thrilling ride, go back to your accommodation and sleep overnight.

 

Day 3: KAMPALA – LAKE BUNYONYI

After an early breakfast, the driver will take you to Lake Bunyonyi, which will be your first destination outside Kampala city. The term “bunyonyi” is a local Bantu term, which means “small birds” or “many birds.” The lake gets it’s name from the vast array of bird species that call it home – over 200 species to be exact. It really is a bird lover’s dream.

JOURNEY TIME: 8 HOURS

Day 4: LAKE BUNYONYI - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE F.N.P

Rise and shine! This morning will see you take a canoe ride on Uganda’s deepest lake and Africa’s second deepest lake – Lake Bunyonyi. Be sure to catch sights of some of the many birds as you visit some of the 29 islands on this lake. There is so much to learn and stories to hear as you meet the Batwa pygmies who inhabit some of the islands. After the canoe ride, while back at your lodge, have lunch and then get ready to go to your next destination, which is Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

JOURNEY TIME: 2 HOURS 30 MINUTES

Day 5: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Gorilla trekking day!! Possibly one of the most exciting activities of this entire trip. Head out after your breakfast to hike through this thick jungle in search of these magnificent creatures. This hike can go for over 3 hours and needs you to have a certain level of physical fitness.

When you finally meet one of the habituated mountain gorilla families, you will spend no more than 1 hour with them. This is a whole day’s activity and truly an experience of a lifetime. After this, you will hike back to your waiting vehicle, which will take you back to your lodge for an overnight stay.

 

Day 6: BWINDI – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Your last day in Bwindi will have you make your way out to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way there, you will make a stop at the Ishasha sector for a chance to see the famous tree climbing lions. After this, it’s back on the road to your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will check in, settle in, have dinner and spend the night.

Day 7: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

On this day, wake up early, have your breakfast and then your first activity of the day will commence with a morning game drive. After lunch, you will take a boat ride on the Kazinga channel, this is a natural channel which connects two lakes, George ( to the east) and Edward ( to the west). The Kazinga channel is infested with crocodiles and hippos but you will get to other animals like elephants, buffalo, birds in addition to other animals that live in the grassland thicket on the Northern Kazinga channel area. After this exciting boat ride, the driver will take you to your next destination – Kibale National Park.

JOURNEY TIME: 2 HOURS 30 MINUTES

Day 8: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Wake up bright and early to a delicious breakfast. Relax at your lodge after breakfast and then in the afternoon, go out to participate in the main activity of this day – chimpanzee trekking where you will spend not more than 1 hour with these primates. Back at your lodge after visiting the chimps, you can either relax or choose to participate in any one of the optional activities like the crater lake hike or village walk.

 

Day 9: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

This morning, after breakfast, embark on a drive North wards to Murchison Falls National Park. This park is one of the oldest and largest protected areas in Uganda. It boasts over 70 species of mammals and 451 bird species. You will make a few stops for a lunch break, bathroom breaks and to stretch out a bit before you finally arrive at the park late afternoon. Check into your lodge, settle in, and relax for the rest of the evening.

JOURNEY TIME: 8 HOURS

Day 10: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

A morning game drive awaits you on this day. The game drive is about 3 hours long and will have you back at your lodging facility in time for lunch. After lunch, you can choose from a few optional activities to participate in like a boat cruise on the River Nile, to the base of Murchison falls, or hike to the top of the falls. Back at the lodge, relax and enjoy the facilities the lodge offers and spend the night.

 

Day 11: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

This day offers much time for relaxing and optional activities like a boat ride to the Albert delta and an evening game drive. Spend your last night at Murchison Falls National Park.

 

Day 12: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK – ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY – KAMPALA

On this morning, after breakfast, while on your way back to Kampala, make a stop at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, a Rhino conservation site, which is  home to the only wild Rhinos in Uganda. After seeing the Rhinos, continue on to Kampala and check into your accommodation in the city.

JOURNEY TIME: 2 HOURS 30 MINUTES( MFNP - ZIWA R.S) - 3 HOURS( ZIWA R.S - KAMPALA)

Day 13: KAMPALA – ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

From Kampala City, then to the airport in Entebbe. This is your last day in Uganda as you prepare to take your flight back home. We hope you would have had as much fun as we did having you with us.
