Day 1: Arrival in Cagliari
Arrival in Cagliari, meeting with IchnusaBike staff and accommodation in a typical B&B inside the historical center of this city that will certainly charm you.
Delivery of road books, material and briefing on the bike tour.
Day 2: Barumini
From the sea of Cagliari until the less known areas of Sardinia, that hold inside delightful landscapes and incredible historical relics such as the Menhir stones of Goni or the nuragic fortress of Barumini near which you will spend the night.
By bike: Approx 138.8 kms - Total ascent 1700 m
Day 3: Cabras
After breakfast, a challenging lap that will take you from the hills around Barumini, crossing quite unknown villages, near San Salvatore di Sinis, a small village uninhabited for most of the year , that comes alive between the end of August and the first Sunday in September during the religious festivals that take place there.
By bike: about 157 kms -Total ascent 2200 m.
Day 4: Montevecchio
From the flat and in some ways pre-desert landscapes of the Sinis Peninsula up to the spectacular Costa Verde (Green Coast), the majestic dunes of Piscinas, the village of Montevecchio and the ruins of the largest post-industrial mining district of Sardinia.
By bike: Approx 123 kms - Total ascent 986 m.
Day 5: Iglesias
After breakfast, through a nice and scarcely busy coast rich in breathtaking landscapes, you will cross the mining villages of Buggerru and Nebida, stopping if you please at the picturesque cove of Cala Domestica.
Afther Nebida you will finally reach the long sandy beach of Fontanamare from which you'll continue towards your Hotel in Iglesias.
By bike: Approx 111 kms - Total ascent 1130 m
Day 6: Iglesias
You may choose between a day of rest or another riding day along a not too challenging circuit that will lead you through a hilly area in the first part of the day and, in the second, slightly uphill, will take you back to Montevecchio and Fluminimaggiore.
From here, on your way back to Iglesias, you can visit the caves of Su Mannau and the Punic Roman Temple of Antas.
By bike: Approx 115 kms - Total ascent 1200 m
Day 7: Iglesias
Last and most challeinging lap that from Iglesias, through the medieval village of Trattalias, will take you to Chia, in the south of Sardinia.
A spectacular stretch of coastline, of beaches with fine sand, dunes and Mediterranean brush.
Back to the hotel via a an internal road that will show you a bit of low Sulcis and, if you want, offer a chance to visit the caves of Is Zuddas
